While working on my portfolio I once again became sidetracked by pattern creation. I have created a seamless, repeating pattern in Illustrator with six colour variations.
I basically took one of the hands from an illustrator I had done before (seen in the background of my twitter page: http://twitter.com/#!/richardstelmach, displayed the grid in Illustrator, made sure it all fitted in a big square, duplicated the hand and used clipping masks to hide parts of each instance to make it join up at the edges.
You only really get a sense of the pattern when you see it repeated en-masse, please take a gander here. Hopefully I’ll create my pattern gallery soon where the patterns will repeat across the entire screen but til then, please use the link to gaze at its wonder.
